Artwork at Serenia

12
This artwork has stood at the entrance of the Serenia nursing home (Rue des Hautes Voies 35) since 2019. It represents a dialogue between the distant and the near.
The open space encircled by a stone frame symbolizes balance and harmony, reflecting the openness of the Tournay-Solvay Foundation, which runs the facility.
The golden sphere, lifted by two arches, honors the residents—carried by the collective care of the institution.
Created by local artist Jean-Paul Couvert (from Corbion), the sculpture is both meaningful and photogenic. With panoramic views of the city, it has become a popular photo spot—especially for young hostel visitors heading uphill. Strike a pose… cheese!
